Camp George in Ontario, Canada, is located on Maple Lake in cottage country. Camp George enables Canadian Jewish youth to participate in Reform Jewish camping while enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Northern Ontario camping experience. At Camp George, Jewish youth from all over Canada and the United States participate in a unique camping experience that blends the best of Reform camping with the historic traditions of Ontario camping. Within this community participants forge life-long friendships and experience a truly transformative Jewish experience.

Camp George offers campers, ranging in age from 7-16, and opportunities to learn new skills, meet new friends, and develop their own Jewish identity. Camp offers a wide array of activities which focus on recreation, fun, cooperation and skill building. Our creative arts program, magnificent waterfront, state of the art Ropes Challenge Course, and various athletic facilities serve as backdrops for teaching, creating, growing and exploring – allowing us to meet the needs of every camper. A summer at Camp George is a summer like none other!

Our Programs

Lehavot: For campers who have completed Grades 2,3,4, and 5
Our Lehavot program provides both first-time campers and camp veterans a great all-round camp experience. Lehavot campers participate in everything that camp has to offer with special attention provided for campers who are trying things for the very first time.

Kochavim: For campers who have completed Grades 6 and 7
As our “middle” camper unit, Kochavim is a great program for new and returning campers. In Kochavim, campers have fun participating in all that camp has to offer and begin to develop leadership skills that can be used both at camp and beyond.

Barak: For campers who have completed Grades 8 and 9
Everyone loves being a Barak camper! In Barak, campers participate in a unique experience which focuses both on the cabin group and the camper unit as a whole. Leadership and role modeling are important in the Barak unit and the ruach (spirit) is like none other.

Counselor in Training (CIT): For campers who have completed Grade 10
The highlight of the senior camper program, our CIT program is a specialized leadership training program specifically crafted to train our future leaders in camp. CITs spend time both as a unit as well as on “placements” with cabin groups and specialty areas.
